Public & Private Librarian Jobs
Most people think of a librarian as someone that works at their local library and that checks out books, puts them back on bookshelves, and charges you overdue fees. While many people do work at public libraries and books are a part of the job, there is much more to being a librarian.
Roughly two-thirds of librarians work at a public library and the remainder work at private and non-profit organizations. Museums, archives, and university campuses are some examples of other places librarians work.
There are also many different types of librarians. For example, most libraries have people on staff that specialize in technology. There are lots of software engineers, IT professionals, and data scientists that work at libraries.
